The weather forecast was for a glorious sunny day, and so it has turned out

At last it feels like spring, early summer

Bit mundane but I cleared out my conservatory, which has been the winter home of tender plants, washed it all down, cleaned floor & windows of all the accumulated winter gunge

Then potted on my tomatoes, removed the trays of hardy annuals from cold greenhouse to outside, half hard annuals into cold green house form conservatory

Moved the strawberry troughs outside

Blessed vine weevil has seen off some of them, damn

Spotted a couple of lily beetles waing to pounce on my Stargazers, so squashed them

And that is it, nearly ready for summer

Now I live in Hampshire, snow is not common and snow in April is rare as hens teeth, last time I remember was 1964

So, camera at the ready, of I went to the local wood, and here are the results

http://msnsport.skysports.com/football/match_preview/0,19764,11065_2967314,00.html

I have just been down the shops, one has sign up saying closed from 1100 due to urgent football match, the florist has balloons out in Pompey colours, the butcher decked in blue

Kick off at 1215, beers in and all ready to go

The note inside tells me the CCD was replaced, without charge as it was under warranty

Must say the Fuji service is excellent, only took it into Post Office at 1030 on Monday morning, and at 1230 Thursday I have my camera returned fully functioning again

And now some pics to try it out

Your repair has been completed and your camera will be dispatched by City Link Special Delivery.

Now that is what I call service, well done Fuji, let's hope City Link can keep it up

Woke early for some reason, so up by 5.30, at least it allowed me to try & sort out my birth certifiacte to send with my huge pension claim. I had phoned them, and the lower figure was the correct one, how did I just know that would be the case?

I have had to order a copy of birth certificate on line as my original is truly non replaceable now, and as it is large format will not copy onto A4 sheet

Then cycled off to supermarket for a bit of exercise, but events took a bad turn because there were reduced prepacked "cook in oven" large haddock & chips reduced. So any calories I may have used by cycling will be poured back on by tonights dinner, here's a link to it http://www.youngsseafood.co.uk/web/product_info.asp?pcd=41499

I decided to take some "spring" pics to post here, daffodils etc. But having taken them I found my camera has gone duff, and the pics have a pinky white blob in the middle, and no, it is not my finger

Time to delve into my records for the camera, a Fuji s7000 zoom, bought it in 2006, and been very happy with it. Luckily, given today's events, I also bought a 5 year warranty at the same time

Now it is all parceled up ready to go back to Fuji tomorrow

 Comments

Start of new blog

Seems I have stopped & started blogs for a while now, but now retirement is fast approaching I hope to continue with this one

Had letter today regarding a pension I was paying into back in the early 70s, it will pay me £38 per year, HA, should buy one tank of petrol at least

To be fair there is the option of taking it all in one lump, about £700, unfortunately they have made a mistake in the figures I have to sign, so will need to ring them on Monday

Another thing I have in mind is signing up for a ten week course on building / updating a computer. I will have to pop along to the local tech college to see about this, and pay £35. seems in fact my pension would pay for this course. A solution, must be fate
